When did you get into art?
ever since i could see, probably. i remember making things before i could talk correctly.
What defines your artistic style?
depends on what “mode” i’m in… japanese anime and games influence all the time. lines that are exact but not too exact. lines that serve a purpose. colors that take me hours to choose… subject matter are things that make me feel, or things i think are funny. i also like written type.
What levels of artistic education have you had?
i took children’s art classes as a child, where what you did all day was copy anime posters using the same method every time, was forced to take 3-D classes to learn maya because it was going to “be the future” and didn’t like it, took figure drawing and painting classes i ended up ditching all the time because i thought it was boring, took art I, II, and AP studio in high school. i’ve concluded that i’m a horrible student but i still end up learning anyway. now i’m a little over halfway of college, but i’ve been on break since may. i have a little over a year left!
What is your favorite piece that you have done?
this one popped into my head first
What do you like most about your art?
i draw what i want
Are you looking to pursue a career in art?
you bet i am!
What do you like drawing the most?
boys in striped shirts
What do you like drawing the least?
straight lines
What would you absolutely refuse to draw?
anything blasphemous for the sake of being blasphemous
How would you rank your art?
i have a different ranking for every piece. for the most part i’d say good, but i always know there are places where i can improve!
Do you have a shameful art past?
i never recolored comics, or traced or anything like that, but i refused to use reference until about a year ago (and still do sometimes) because i thought using reference was looked down upon. also this.
