i’ve drawn the first page of chapter 1 to remember the rhapsody five times now.

the last four times times, i drew about 3-17 follow-up pages that may or may not be on the internet somewhere.

the first one was done around 2008 and i’ve tried to restart it basically every year after, except the final two which were both done this year, once in the summer and once about a week ago.

every time, alex is leaving toffee’s coffee house, and responds with toffee’s question with “yes’m”. alex’s main color has always been red, and alex has always been wearing a beanie. toffee’s design was the one i have struggled with the most, but i’m very happy with her final look. her glasses kept changing shape! haha!

the first chapter is hard because it’s the setup for the rest of the story, but i didn’t want it to be boring. i think that’s why it’s taken me so long to start this. i took the things i liked from every “first chapter”, and melded it all together to create a “real” first chapter.

awwww man! i’m excited. we’ll see what happens!
